A template is a reusable starting point for an email. AuthorSend ships with a gallery of professionally designed templates, and any email you build can be saved as a template of your own. Both live in one place: the design picker that opens whenever you start an email.
Start from a template
When you create a campaign, pick a template from the gallery to start with. The gallery shows a real preview of each one. Templates you've saved appear first, under My Templates, so your work is never buried among the starters.
Save a design to reuse
Built an email whose layout you'll want again — a standard newsletter frame, a new-release announcement? In the email editor, choose Template, then Save as template, and give it a name. Next time you start there instead of from scratch.
To update a template you already have, save again under the same name. The editor tells you it will replace the existing one before you confirm.
Edit or delete a saved template
Open the design picker (start a campaign, or choose Template, then Change template in the editor) and hover one of your templates under My Templates. The pencil opens it for editing; the trash can deletes it.
Templates in journeys
Each email in a journey is designed inside that journey, starting from the same gallery. A journey's emails belong to the journey, so they don't appear under My Templates — use Save as template in the editor if you want to reuse one elsewhere. When a journey is published, the email it will send is frozen in place, so later edits can't quietly change what in-flight readers receive.
