Manage unsubscribes and blocked addresses

How opt-outs work, why they protect your sending, and what the Blocked list is — the addresses AuthorSend will never let you email again.

Letting readers leave easily is not a loss — it's what keeps the readers who stay engaged and your deliverability strong. AuthorSend handles opt-outs for you and keeps a list of addresses you can no longer contact.

How unsubscribing works

Every campaign includes a one-click unsubscribe, both as a footer link and in the email's headers (so mailbox providers can offer their own "unsubscribe" button). When someone opts out, it takes effect immediately — they stop receiving mail and stop counting toward your plan.

The Blocked list

Under Subscribers → Blocked is your suppression list — everyone AuthorSend will never send to, even if you import them again:

  • People who unsubscribed.
  • Addresses that hard-bounced (they don't exist).
  • People who marked you as spam.

You don't build this list; AuthorSend maintains it automatically and checks it on every send, so a past opt-out can't be re-mailed by accident.
