Plans, limits, and your reader count

How pricing works, exactly what counts toward your reader limit, and what happens when you grow past it — no overage fees, ever.

AuthorSend is priced by the size of your active audience. Every plan includes the full feature set — automations, segmentation, landing pages, and the AI assistant — so higher tiers buy you more scale and deliverability, not unlocked features.

What counts toward your limit

Only active readers count. Specifically:

  • Unsubscribed readers never count. The moment someone opts out, they stop counting toward your bill.
  • Bounced addresses never count. A hard bounce is removed from your active audience.
  • Nobody is counted twice, no matter how many lists, segments, or tags they belong to.

This isn't just a promise on a pricing page — it's enforced in the billing code.

What happens if you exceed it

Changing plans

  • Upgrade anytime for immediate access, with the cost prorated.
  • Downgrade anytime — it takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
  • Annual billing saves roughly 20% versus monthly (about two and a half months free), applied automatically when you switch to annual.
  • Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. Access continues to the end of the period you've paid for, and you can export all your readers and data first.
