Cross-promote with the magnet swap network

Trade newsletter promos with other writers in your genre — AuthorSend matches you and writes the promo email, and nothing goes out until you approve it.

The magnet swap network is a built-in marketplace where writers cross-promote each other's reader magnets. You feature another writer's free download to your list; they feature yours to theirs. Both lists grow with readers who already like your kind of book.

How matching works

You list your magnets with genre tags and say which genres you want to promote. AuthorSend scores each possible partner by how closely their genres match the ones you asked for, and only proposes matches above the relevance threshold you set — from broad to exact match. Magnets that have had fewer promos get a small boost, so everyone gets a turn.

You set the terms

Before you join, choose three things in your swap settings:

  • Who receives swap promos. A swap only ever mails the list or segment you set aside for it — never your whole audience unless that is what you choose.
  • How picky to be. Raise the relevance threshold and you get fewer, closer matches.
  • Whether you review each match. This is the important one.

New profiles start in Review Before Send: every match waits for you. Approve it and it goes out; decline it, or let the review window pass, and nothing is sent.

When you decline a match you can say why, and that magnet stays out of your future matches.

What goes out

For each approved match, AuthorSend writes the promo email and a landing page for your partner's magnet, then sends the email to your swap list. Swap signups are tracked back to the partnership that drove them, so you can see which swaps are worth repeating.

Make the most of it

Offer a strong reader magnet, and let a welcome journey greet everyone who joins so a swap turns into long-term readers, not just a one-day spike.
